Philgonah Omungoh - Outgoing Secretary
Having been in the role, describe the role in your own words.
A learning and serving experience. An opportunity to grow and interact. A door to even greater roles.
What initially drew you to take up the role?
I was excited by the opportunity to serve in the club, especially through sharing succinct minutes reminding members that the minutes are very readable
What were the challenges you faced while in office?
I’d feel super overwhelmed when I delayed sharing the minutes. But this got sorted when I discovered the secret was sharing the minutes in time
How did you manage to keep a balance between work and Toastmaster leadership? Did you experience club officer burnout?
I did experience burnout at times especially cause my job is very demanding. BUT I’m a strong believer of planning and having a positive attitude in whatever I set myself to do
Any lessons learnt while in office?
Paying attention to detail Active listening and working with different personalities
Advise to your successor?
In delay there lies no plenty.
Share the minutes as fast as you can 😊
Now that you are done with your tenure, where to next in your Toastmaster Leadership journey?
I’m looking forward to completing my pathways project and mentoring more people through their Toastmasters journey
